With the press release of the Council of Ministers n. 10 of 07/17/2018, taking into account the opinions expressed by the special commissions, the decree introducing the supplementary and corrective provisions to Legislative Decree no. 112/2017 which carry out a review of the regulations on the Social Enterprise.
The corrective and supplementary interventions envisaged concern the employment of "very disadvantaged" workers, i.e. unemployed for over 24 months (0, if particular conditions are met, even for 12), the additional and supportive action of volunteers, the adaptation of statutes, fiscal measures and economic support.
If very disadvantaged workers are employed in the company in a number of not less than 30 per cent of the employees, the activity carried out by the entity can be considered of "general interest"; however, for the purposes of this percentage calculation, those who have been employed by the institution for at least two years can no longer be considered "disadvantaged".
Already established Social Enterprises will have to adapt to the new regulations within 18 months of the entry into force of Legislative Decree no. 112/2017 (by January 2019) and not already in that of 12 as previously established.
