On August 9th, the Guidelines for the preparation of the Social Report were published in the Official Gazette, which Third Sector Entities with revenues exceeding one million euros will have to prepare and file with the Third Sector Single Register, with the exception of companies and for Cooperative Companies, the filing of which must instead be made with the Company Register.
This is a document aimed at reporting the social, environmental and economic results of the activities that were carried out by the entity during the reference financial year, aimed at making all stakeholders aware of the actual social value generated.
According to the guidelines, the social report must be drawn up following a format divided into sections and subsections, making reference to the reporting standards used and to general information on the entity (governance system, personnel, volunteers involved). Furthermore, according to the provisions of the guidelines, a specific section of the social report must be dedicated to providing clarifications regarding the economic and financial situation of the institution, referring to which and how many resources were collected in the social year from public funds and private.
The social balance must be approved by the statutory body responsible, after being examined by the supervisory body which integrates it with information on monitoring and certification of compliance with the guidelines; in compliance with the criteria of accessibility and prompt availability of information, the social report must also be published on the institution's website or on that of the related associative network.
